Dual-Voice Analogue Synthesis with Four Oscillators and Extensive Patch Control

The Behringer 2-XM is a semi-modular analogue desktop synthesizer built around two independent voices, each with two VCOs, a multi-mode VCF, analogue LFO and dual envelope generators. The voices can run polyphonically, be split, or combine all four oscillators in unison for denser layered sounds.

Each oscillator provides adjustable frequency, modulation and pulse width, with oscillator sync available for sharper lead tones and more complex harmonic movement. The two multi-mode filters can operate as low-pass, high-pass, notch or band-pass filters, while four analogue envelope generators give you separate control over filter and amplifier behaviour.

A two-channel mixer adds independent level and pan control for each voice, with portamento available across both. Extensive CV and Gate inputs and outputs support internal and external modulation, while two external audio inputs let you process outside sound sources through the synth architecture.

The 2-XM also offers dedicated audio outputs, combined stereo output, MIDI and USB control, and a main module that can be transferred into a standard Eurorack case.
