The Barnes & Mullins BJ500BW Empress 5 String Banjo is named in memory of the steam ship 'RMS Empress of Ireland.' The Empress combines exceptional build quality, premium tonewoods and appointments, and a head-turning aesthetic. A patterned rolled brass tone ring and flange give the Troubadour an antique appearance and give this instrument excellent volume and projection. A stunning closed back Burl Walnut resonator, with matching Walnut neck, deliver an authentic, punchy bluegrass tone that sounds as great as this banjo looks. Geared machine heads ensure improved tuning stability. The BJ500BW also features a rolled brass tone ring to improve the volume and projection of the instrument.
