Aquila New Nylgut Concert Ukulele String Set with 2 Wound Violin Tuning GDAe

Clear, Stable Ukulele Tone for Violin-Style Tuning

The Aquila New Nylgut concert ukulele string set is designed for players using violin-style tuning in fifths, delivering a responsive feel and a natural, gut-like tone. Developed through extensive research, the New Nylgut material offers improved sound compared to standard nylon or PVDF, with clearer fundamentals and more accurate fret intonation. Two wound strings support balanced tension and definition in GDAe tuning, helping notes speak cleanly across the fingerboard.

The material remains stable under changes in humidity, making tuning more consistent once the strings have settled. Careful installation is important, as with traditional gut-style strings, to ensure smooth contact at the nut and bridge and to achieve the best tonal results over time.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think these strings are a thoughtful choice for players seeking stable intonation and a refined, traditional tone in violin-tuned concert ukulele setups.
