Ibanez's “Quest” with the Q/Quest headless design was to not just to adapt an existing instrument into a headless design, but to develop an entirely new guitar from the ground up. Quest models feature a number of unique elements intended to maximize tone, performance, and playing comfort. These include, custom designed pickups, a new Mono-Tune bridge, and a custom string locking mechanism. All of these upgrades and special features are aimed at the contemporary, intricate and technical playing styles, but with such a diverse and versatile feature set, this series is equally comfortable performing in all genres.

The Ibanez Q52 LBM Headless Electric Guitar, finished in Laser Blue Matte, features a Nyatoh body, for thick, warm tones. This choice of tonewood makes the perfect foundation for a pair of Ibanez Q58 Passive Ceramic Humbuckers. This incredibly versatile humbucking duo (made all the more versatile by Ibanez's dyna-MIX10 switching system) is designed specifically for the Quest models. Clear and articulate, no matter how much gain is thrown at them, these pickups produce powerful mud-free lows, combined with bright and crystalline highs, for singing leads and well-defined chords. The dyna-MIX10 system with alter switch provides 10 distinct tonal profiles, including realistic-sounding single-coil tones via Power Tap mode. 

A 3-piece Roasted Maple.Bubinga neck, and roasted Birdseye Maple fretboard with 24 Jumbo Jescar EVOgold frets, makes for speedy licks and effortless riffs. A custom string lock, combined with a mono-tune bridge provides solid tuning stability, easy adjustability for setups, and doesn't require specialist strings like some other headless designs. Luminescent side dot inlays let you see your positioning on the darkest of stages, and a gig bag protects the Quest when travelling to and from gigs.
