This used Guild S-100 Kim Thayil Polara Black suits players who want a solidbody with real weight in the mids, a slightly different feel from the usual single-cut or double-cut shapes, and a sound that can move from thick riffing into stranger territory when needed. The mahogany body and neck give it that denser, fuller kind of response that works well for heavier rock, grunge, and fuzzed-up rhythm parts, while the Guild HB-1 humbuckers keep enough clarity on hand to stop it turning to sludge.
