The maple shells are engineered to balance resonance and control, using 6-ply, 5 mm construction for the tom and floor tom, and a thicker 8-ply, 7 mm shell for the bass drum. This combination supports a full, powerful tone with consistent response across tuning ranges. Careful shell moulding and bearing edge shaping help the drums speak evenly, while the Star-Mount system supports the tom at four points on the batter-side hoop to increase resonance and reduce shell damping.
