The Fender Player II Precision Bass FSR Shell Pink is a limited-run electric bass built for players who want the familiar feel of a modern P Bass with a more traditional, vintage-style voice. It keeps the fast, comfortable Player II platform while swapping in a Pure Vintage ’60 split-coil pickup for a more open, dynamic response.

The alder body delivers a balanced, full-range tone with solid low-end and clear mids, making it easy to sit in a mix without fighting for space. The Modern “C” maple neck with a satin finish feels smooth and quick in the hand, while the 9.5" radius slab rosewood fingerboard with rolled edges gives a slightly worn-in feel that makes longer sessions more comfortable. This setup leans towards easy and consistent playability rather than a heavier, more traditional neck feel.

The Pure Vintage ’60 split-coil pickup brings a completely different character to this bass, compared to the standard Player Series P-Bass pickup, which is a modern higher-output design. With Alnico 5 magnets and formvar-coated wire, it produces a strong low end with clearer highs and more dynamic range, so your playing comes through with more detail. Compared to hotter pickups, this has a slightly more open and responsive feel rather than a compressed, aggressive output.

The 4-saddle bridge and open-gear tuners keep things stable and easy to adjust, whether you’re setting up for the studio or getting ready for a live set. The 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard and Shell Pink finish give it a distinct look without changing the core feel of the instrument.
