The Australian-made Pratley Dred 12-String Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar Blackwood/Blackwood is meticulously hand-built in the Gold Coast by the Pratley team, using solid and sustainable premium quality Australian tonewoods. It features solid Australian Blackwood top, back & sides, QLD Maple neck, and Wenge fingerboard and bridge. Wenge makes a great, sustainable alternative to Rosewood, due to its comparable density and oil content. Wenge is especially hard-wearing, and features stunning tone and aesthetics. Pratley extend the same kind of premium quality to the rest of their appointments, with this acoustic featuring a satin nitrocellulose finish, Graphtech nut and saddle, Pratley-branded machine heads produced by Gotoh Japan, an L.R. Baggs StagePro Element pickup, and a hard case.

Rather than using the traditional neck heel method, these acoustics feature set neck join similar to PRS electrics, allowing much greater (and more comfortable) access to the upper frets. Optimisation tweaks to the scarf joint head angle, and high performance neck carve, increase strength and stability, creating a more reliable playing experience, and faster and easier set-ups. A floating fretboard, similar to those found in violins and cellos, allows the soundboard's voice to remain uncompromised, while updated body construction techniques enhance resonant transfer, improving the articulation and sweetness of this acoustic's tone.
